TEAM ROSTER

  • A MINIMUM OF 3 PLAYERS NEED TO COME FROM THE SAME ESTABLISHMENT IN ORDER TO START A TEAM
  • TEAM FEES ACCOUNT FOR 15 PLAYERS INCLUDING CAPTAIN
  • MAXIMUM 18 PLAYERS PER TEAM
  • MINIMUM 3 FEMALE PLAYERS ON THE ROSTER. 3 FEMALES MUST BAT IN THE LINEUP WITH A MINIMUM OF TWO FEMALES ON THE FIELD
  • FINAL ROSTER ADDITIONS OF NEW PLAYERS DEADLINE IS THE 5TH WEEK OF THE REGULAR SEASON
  • FREE AGENTS   ANY PLAYER MALE OR FEMALE IN THE HOSPITALITY AND SERVICE INDUSTRY WITHOUT A TEAM CAN REGISTER AS A FREE AGENT.

EQUIPMENT

  • BALLS: ASA CERTIFIED OFFICIAL CLINCHER SLOW PITCH BALLS. N0. 12
  • BATS: TEAMS CAN ONLY USE RSC APPROVED BATS. 2019 BAT RULE
  • TEAMS ARE ALLOWED 5 BATS TO USE DURING EACH GAME AND MUST BE VISIBLE TO BOTH TEAMS AND UMPIRE
  • PLAYERS CAN NOT WEAR METAL CLEATS
  • UNIFORMS MUST BE WORN ON THE PLAYING FIELD. PLAYERS WITHOUT A SHIRT WILL HAVE TO PAY A FINE OF $10 TO THE UMPIRE.
  • CATCHERS MUST WEAR MASKS

GAME RULES

  • EACH TEAM MUST FIELD A MAXIMUM OF 10 PLAYERS
  • TEAMS CAN HAVE A DH (DESIGNATED HITTER) AND EH (EXTRA HITTER)
  • TEAMS PLAY TWO 7 INNING GAMES STARTING @ 10:15 AM
  • EACH GAME WILL HAVE A TIME LIMIT OF 1 HOUR AND 15 MINS
  • GAMES TIED AFTER 7TH INNING OR EXPIRED TIME LIMIT WILL PLAY AN EXTRA 15 MINS
  • MERCY RULE: MERCY RULE GOES INTO EFFECT IN THE 5TH INNING OF A 7 INNING GAME. 7TH ON A 9 INNING GAME.
  • GROUND RULES: UMPIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE TO GO OVER THE GROUND RULES WITH THE CAPTAINS
  • FORFEITS: TEAMS MUST FIELD AT LEAST 9 PLAYERS TO AVOID A FORFEIT (2 PLAYERS MUST BE FEMALES)
  • BATTING ORDER MUST BE EXCHANGED BETWEEN BOTH CAPTAINS PRIOR TO START OF GAME
  • MALE BATTERS START WITH A 1 BALL - 1 STRIKE COUNT
  • COURTESY RUNNERS WILL BE THE LAST RECORDED OUT MADE BY A PLAYER OF THE SAME SEX
  • BASE RUNNERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAD. NO STEALING
  • INFIELD FLY RULE IS IN EFFECT
  • PLAYERS  MUST SLIDE INTO THE BASE AND NOT THE PLAYER

PLAYER CONDUCT

  • PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER EACH GAME WHILE AT ANY FIELD LOCATION. TEAM CAPTAINS ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR TEAMS ACTION ON THE FIELD. ONLY CAPTAINS ARE ALLOWED TO SPEAK TO UMPIRES REGARDING A CALL OR ANY OTHER INQUIRIES.
  • ZERO TOLERANCE FOR FIGHTING,THREATS AND CONTINIOUS FOUL LANGUAGE MAY RESULT IN LEAGUE SUSPENSION. ANY PLAYER INVOLVED IN ANY ALTERCATION WILL BE EJECTED FROM THE GAME. BOTH PLAYERS INVOLVED IN THE ALTERCATION WILL BE EJECTED.
  • NO DRINKING ALCOHOL WHILE THE GAME IS IN PROGRESS. NO SMOKING ON THE FIELDS OR IN THE DUGOUTS.
  • ALL PLAYERS MUST CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES. CAPTAINS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR TEAM.

CAPTAINS AND PLAYERS THAT IGNORE TO REGISTER ONLINE WILL BE HELD RESPOSIBLE FOR ANY INJUSRIES TO HIM/HERSELF AND/OR PLAYERS ON HIS OR HER TEAM!

Injury: Any player who is bleeding or has an open wound is prohibited from participating further in the game until appropriate treatment has been administered. Player must sit out if feeling nauseating or concussions like symptoms.

Safety: All RSC players must read and understand game rules so we can prevent injuries. Leagues uses Clinchers (Softer Softballs) and/or SB12 (Harder Softballs) in regulation games. Pitcher must be aware to protect him or herself at all times. Protective head or face gear is allowed but not mandatory for pitchers. ILLEGAL BATS ARE NOT ALLOWED! ANY BATTER USING AN ILLEGAL BAT WILL BE RESPOSIBLE FOR ANY INJURY CAUSED ON THE FIELD! Bat list is posted on our website.

 

SOFTBALL UMPIRES

  • ALL UMPIRE ARE REGISTERED OFFICIALS
  • EACH UMPIRE IS REQUIRED TO KNOW ALL RSC HOUSE RULES AND GAME RULES
  • ALL UMPIRES MUST ACT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL TIMES
  • UMPIRE FEE MUST BE PAID DURING THE INTERMISSION

RAIN OUTS

  • RAIN OUTS WILL BE ISSUED THE NIGHT BEFORE A GAME IF THE WEATHER IS SEVERE OR 2 HOURS PRIOR TO START OF GAME. GAMES WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR A LATER DATE
